Quality of life assessment in patients receiving cryotherapy in addition to chemotherapy for palliation of unresectable esophageal or gastroesophageal cancer
Primary Objective:
To determine the effect of cryoablation combined with chemotherapy on the quality of life (QOL) of patients with non-resectable esophageal or gastroesophageal cancer.
Secondary Objective:
To determine the effect of cryotherapy on dysphagia scores
To describe the safety profile associated with cryotherapy in patient receiving systemic chemotherapy.
To determine the need for alternative treatments for palliation of dysphagia in patients with esophageal cancer on systemic therapy receiving cryotherapy.
To determine the effect of cryotherapy on nutritional status.
To determine the effect of cryotherapy on tumor size measured endoscopically.
To determine the effect of cryotherapy on the immunologic response to the cancer.
To determine whether local tumor control correlated with systemic tumor control.
To determine survival while on cryotherapy and systemic chemotherapy.
